Speak up to Stop TB!
Tuberculosis (TB) is an important public health issue in India, which bears one-fifth of the global TB burden. TB is a social disease with serious health, economic and social consequences for all of us. The media has a powerful role to play in informing the public about preventing, controlling and curing TB. Accurate, sensitive and timely journalism can improve our understanding of TB, increase access to TB services and dispel the many myths and misconceptions that persist about TB.
Since 2010, REACH has been working with journalists from across the country to improve both the quality and frequency of reporting on TB, through the REACH Lilly MDR-TB Partnership Media Programme. This is an initiative of REACH, with support from the Lilly MDR-TB Partnership. REACH is a Chennai-based non-profit organisation dedicated to the fight against TB since 1999. We invite you to speak up to stop TB, one step at a time. You can do this in many small ways. As a first step, explore this website. Read about TB. Share the website with your friends. Write to us. Blog for us. And if you are a journalist, do get in touch to explore ways in which we can work together.
