The opening of a REACH DOTS Centre at the V-Cure Hospital has proved to be a very good move because the number of TB patients benefited has risen from 15 in January 2007 when it started to 70 at present. The reason behind this improvement is not only medication but the awareness created by the REACH staff. They work selflessly targeting only the patients well being. Even when patients are rude to them or do not adhere to treatment, they are not discouraged, but keep working laboriously and passionately towards their goal. To fulfill the needs of the patients they approach our hospital staff in a very humble manner. They also make house visits to the patient’s homes, a step which is taken to ensure that patients adhere to treatment.
The management of V-Cure Hospital which includes Dr.R.Ganesh M.D., Dr.V.Gopinath M.B.B.S, DWB (Urologist), the other duty doctors, nurses and other staff also contribute towards the effective functioning of the DOTS centre.
My Heartfelt wishes for the compassionate services offered by the REACH staff to help the poor and suffering TB patients in our society.
Ms.Kalpana works as a nurse in V-Cure and has been seeing the DOTS Centre develop from its inception.
